Leven Canyon, TAS

It’s a bit of a drive from the coast into the hill country to reach Leven Canyon.  Easy walk to Cruickshanks lookout.  Then down 700 odd steps to The Edge lookout.  All up under 1 hour.  If you get there early for one of the few level sites in the overnight area you could spend the day under the shade of large fern trees and if you are lucky you might get some Tasmanian Devils visit at night.  From here you can also drive to Cradle Mountain.

Great free campsite with shady fern trees.

Some fun letterboxes in the Wilmot area…

On our way to Launceston we dropped into Deloraine.  The visitor centre has an amazing silk mural display depicting 4 seasons, well worth the $10 entry fee.

Here’s some close ups…

You’ve been using the 60 Great Short Walk apps haven’t you. Terrific area. Will you be going to Railton? Really cute topiary.

  2. Haha, yes we have enjoyed the 60 Great Walks! Railton was our previous post, Topiaries were suffering from the dry, but still fun.
